B|L Research Notes "Sleeve Design" Performance Issue cover
Finally
It’s always scary when you’re knee deep in writing and curating and you struggle to find your way back to the theme you want to explore.
It’s not that the theme is lost or that the pieces don’t work as stand alone essays. Far from it.
It’s just that it’s hard to see the through line connecting you via every essay and overall theme to the reader.
Until the cover.
As with the first issue, once that becomes real, at least to me, everything else starts to fall into place.
From the final pieces to make the cut.
To where what essay goes.
And what images will work.
While there is still a lot of work to do, it feels like a foregone conclusion.
Of course it’ll get done, because we have a cover.
We have a magazine.
We have a connection.
